Glenn Beck

It is Easter Weekend Saturday, nice and sunny, warm about 70 degrees. I am at the Democrats Head quarters doing my volunteer work. I am hanging out in the office with a good companion, my dog Smokey.

What is going on in NJ 5th District – Warren County?
This year Democrats candidates are running for office;
Tod Theise, who ran for office as a democrat freeholder candidate against Angelo Acceturo, is running for US Congress in NJ district 5 against the GOP ” god” Scott Garrett who votes “NO” on every policy that benefits the middle class.
Tammy Smith, who ran last year for NJ assembly in the 23rd district, is running for Surrogate and Robert Gara is running for Sheriff.
I call these candidates “brave hearts.”
On the other hand, the GOP opposition is going crazy with their Tea party rallies against the Health Care. A Tea Party Rally is scheduled for April 10 2010 at 10.00AM in Warren County headed by State Senator Mike Doherty.

See what we are up to in Christie’s base counties

Doherty ( R-Warren-, Hunterdon) and assembly woman Alison Littell McHose are calling on New Jersey attorney General Paula Dow to join attorneys in other 14 states in a lawsuit against Health Care which was signed into law last week claiming it is unconstitutional. No republican in either house of congress and senate supported the bill.

HYPOCRICY: GOP Spending is Not Wasteful until Democrats Spends.
Now try to match the two. Saturday is a Tea party Rally against health care in Warren County, at the same time,  GOP- Warren county Board of  freeholders approved the $7.3 million for the purchase of 445 Marshall street in Phillipsburg and some renovations on the existing Warren county community College. For clarity sake, I am pro- education, and I welcome any expansion to Warren County College, because this will benefit our students who are future leaders.
..But what I have a problem with, is the hypocrisy of the Grand Obstruction Party, who wants to have it both ways. This is the state with a Republican governor who is panting over Democrats spending and cutting all state education Aid.

His Budget cuts has also led to the closure of  Psychiatric Hospital.

Along with other cuts announced , Gov. Chris Christie called for closing the 310-bed hospital with about 600 employees in Lebanon Township by June 2011. Many have called this as a reckless move by Govenor Chris Christie.

Also, last week Christie was in montclair addressing high school student at Montclair high school, explaining himself out why he is cutting education funding. Here is the GOP governor talking to students last week. Remember essex county is highly dominated by Democrats, and that is where he targeted most of his cuts. Not Warren County.

WEST ORANGE — “Facing a dramatic cut in state aid, West Orange schools plan to lay off 84 staff members, including 33 teachers, to make up the difference.”

In Warren County ( Christie’s base) the project worth $7.3 Million just got approved, at the same time, this is the same GOP County and tea party groups who are protesting the government for passing health care , while their GOP governor Christie, is crying foul over the state deficit.
Is  this the same governor who will pay for half the price of the approved Project in Warren County?

Are Christie’s cuttings only targeted in the heavily Democrat populated counties? What is this game about?
It is ok for GOP to spend, but it is not ok when it is a Democrat coming up with any type of project. This is hypocritical, or should I say playing double standards to win voter support on both sides?

This is where I have a problem with GOP leadership it is all about bulling people;

Christie is still out fighting the teachers in NJ, what I find troubling is. Why can’t he fight his own base as well? How can Chris Christie look into people ‘s eyes and say he is trying to balance the deficit by cutting spending , when his base is benefiting, by advocating for the rich?

According to the Warren County Reporter and express times, the $7.3 million project will be financed by the bond ordinance, and half of the project will be financed by the state, since the state is responsible for the debt service on bond through the chapter 12 state funding program, which was created to help finance facilities at county colleges since colleges are not permitted to take on debt. Hmmm.

What is wrong with this picture? Closing the hospital, and substuting it for something else that can wait until the state is out of recession?

Listen Tea Bags; you cannot have it both ways.
I love Warren County; especially living in the midst of the opposition is so much fun.

Scott Brown with common sense and conservative values below is running for office, to fill the US Senate sit left by Late Ted Kennedy in Massachusetts.

scottbrown

The only problem most of Sarah Palin critics have with the former governor of Alaska, and many Republican party Candidates, is the level of hypocrisy.

Remember how the former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin condemned her son -in -Law Levi Johnston, for posing Nude for a magazine contract?

levijohnston

Palin exploded with outrage. She advised her daughter, to get full custody of her son, meaning limiting rights of Levi to see his son because, according to Sarah Palin, his posing Nude, was not good for his son Tripp.

This is what I call; “double standards at its best,” when the same Sarah Palin, goes on faux News; Sean Hannity to endorse a Republican candidate Scott Brown, who in my oppinion, Brown did exactly the same thing her son-in-law Levi Johnston did.

I do not know who Sarah Palin’s advisor is, but whoever, is advising Sarah Palin for her dream for 2012, is under-estimating the intelligence of many American people.

the picture below is Scott Brown.

Now I need someone from the Republican party and all Sarah Palin’s followers to tell me the difference between Scott Brown and Levi Johnston ‘s pose.

Sarah Palin endorsed the man below ( Scott Brown) who once was posing nude for magazines . But harshly condemned Levi Johnston, her son-in-law for doing the same thing. What a hypocrite Sarah Palin is.

I guess Levi sinned more than Scott.

I mean, how do I interpret this scenario…. Levi’s mother is serving house Jail for drugs.. How about Rush Limbaugh, why can’t someone put him in Jail? He is a drug addict too.. and Todd Palin..all the stink of his involvement with the independent party, before Sarah Palin became VP candidate, and other news about Todd Palin’s family we have been reading in the Alaskan News papers?

…. Hmmmm. I guess certain laws and rules applies only to some, and t0 so called liberals, according to the analysis of many holy Republicans.

So in short, Scott Brown is holy and practices party values, while Levi is white trash and needs cleansing for his sin.

If only Sarah Palin can look in the mirror and stop repeating the same claim of her having common sense, and preaching party values..that may save the Republican party with their slogan of holiness.

Yeah… we Republicans, a party of morals and values.

If posing nude is good for Scott, It should be good Levi too.scottbrown

Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin, now hired by Fox News as Analyst condemed  Levi Johnston, the father of her grand child Tripp, for posing nude.

According to Sarah Palin,” Levi Johnston took a “heartbreaking” venture into “porn.”

I do not know what to make of Sarah Palin and her followers. The level of hypocrisy is too huge to stomach.

She publicly  endorsed the above candidate running for office to fill the late Ted Kennedy ‘s sit in Massachusetts.

She praised Scott Brown when she appeared on Sean  Hannity (Faux News) in her own words below:

“It’s going to send a very strong message that the  status quo, even in Massachusetts, the status quo of just accepting the big growth of government and health care takeover measures that it seems capital hill wants to cram down our throats today, things are gonna start changing, thank God things are gonna start changing, but even, and I would love to be able to at some point interview “Senator Brown.” I anticipate victory there, but even if he doesn’t win already poll numbers showing that his message is resonating and his message is just, you know, common sense conservative values, principles, solutions, being plugged in to meet the challenges facing America today. People in his state, they’re listening to him and are getting excited about this dynamic candidate.”

Just came back from the demonstration Rally in support to the Health Care Reform.
Because we reside in the crazies base County, we took it to the street. It was amazing, fulfilling and effective, even when we are out numbered by the republicans. We delivered our message in a very peaceful and civil manner. We had no media coverage. I guess it is not fun to cover anything positive, if we were chanting Nazi, Hitler, and all the crazy stuff like take back our country, I am sure that would be attractive. Peace is not something that gets coverage.

Health care Rally 276
Cars were honking in support. It felt so good, just to push back the crazies. Here are the pictures I took.

Health care Rally 283

Have you ever felt a need to make your voice heard in the middle of the crazy mob, who appear to be so taller than yourself and look like Bullies? Imagine the picture of this crazy monster with big ugly teeth threatening to kill you if you speak the truth, and then you are there thinking , should I take a risk to fight this gorilla or not? Then your guts tells you, just go out and fight, do not get intimidated by the size of your opponent.

You bundle up off you go for a fight? That is what I did today. It feels so refreshing to preach the truth and facts to the people who have drunk the cool aid from Fox News and Glenn Beck.

In the middle of the battle ground, the entire ground chants in support of your message, cars honking in support, thumbs up.

Health care Rally 281

That is exactly what happened today. You never know, how many people you may change, until you take part in educating the uninformed public. I just realized today that we have a good crowd in Warren County supporting the health Care Reform. Be like a brave turtle, facing the lion.

Health care Rally 284

Of Course, I was doing paparazzi, since we had no coverage. Our county is controlled by Republicans, so they refused to give us publicity. The Radio, News papers are all controlled by Repubs and we had zero reporters, they told us in advance that we are on our own.

So I did my amateur photographing, but what the heck. I did it.

Health care Rally 269

This was my favorite poster. Holding it is Janice Swack running for Council in Independence. She was the organizer of this demonstration against the tea baggers .Here she is

Health care Rally 268

She is an Icon for Democrats in this county dominated by holy holy elephants.

Health care Rally 262

We had one oposition who came to disrupt us, trying to sell his opposition message. We watered him down with facts, and obvious questions.

The dems are not putting up with any nonsense, they are fighting back in a civil and peaceful way. Our anti-Health care reform was this old guy screaming at us, chanting Obama is a socialist .

 Health care Rally 272

It was not easy with him because, our message overshadowed his negativity. He could not give an answer to what type of insurance he had. I asked him whether he was on medicare, you would have seen how we watered him down, with facts about health care, and told him medicare is a government run program. He immediately zipped his big mouth.

Health care Rally 273

See what happens when you use facts to challenge a lie. These wing nuts have no facts, Flood them with facts, they have no answers. That is why you can’t be afraid. They use violent words to scare people, but when you confront them with facts, they are cowards.

Look at how embarrassed he looks after learning the truth about medicare. Duh

Health care Rally 274

Health care Rally 261

Small group but effective with the right message. For this county, this is pretty a good sign for change.

Health care Rally 277

I walked by and took a pic of  supporters, telling their personal stories and word of encouragement.

Health care Rally 278

Peaceful people. Do you see any craziness here?

Health care Rally 260

After this, my girl friend and I went to a near by out door  free concert , to take our chances to handout our health Care reform flyer’s. We were successful. Check the crowd in this county, these are holy holy you know people? Anti Obama. But you will be shocked. I am sure many of these folks  are on medicare. What is laughable folks is olsd folks who are against Government take over, are on medicare.

Health care Rally 006

Health care Rally 005

Anyway, all I can say is Fox News , Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh are misleading people in this country. All these old folks , do spend their days listening to fox news. What a shame.

Time to go to bed. Work day Monday. It’s 1.12 AM now. I am tired.

Sunday, Sept 13 2009:-  I am out to the rally in support of the Health Care Reform. You can’t feed your neighbor’s child, before you feed your own.

There is no reason, any American shoud die with a treatable illness because they can’t afford  insurance. It is disgusting, to see people  acting like monsters  protesting and blocking fellow Americans access to health care, because of their greed. It is so an American.

The tone of these rallies, are driving this country into political insanity. The inflammatory rhetoric is getting out of hand.  America is the multicultural nation, and this coming from the top consevative mouth piece, is scary.

Rush Limbaugh is preaching crap, and no Gop leaders are able to rebut him. He is on air scaring white folks. Also on the left people of color are getting so irritated to see their hope being taken away. So they are becoming very angry too. This is so depressing, and crazy.

Some people may think, I am not being analytical of President Obama. After only 8 months, I do not think it is fair to punch him before he is even given chance to show his leadership.

I can assure you onething, I will start sleeping when the crazies on the right stop being crazy. If you can’t see insanity with the right wing , then there is something wrong with your brains too.  Where is the civilized nation that was admired by the world.

Guys put your acts together, you are acting like idiots. The entire world is watching your craziness. Gee.

This country needs civility and a healthy debate. That is,if you want this country to lead  in the entire world. You can’t preach democracy when you don’t show your democracy in your own crib.

I am here killing myself pushing my kids to go to college and there you are, in this civilized nation  preventing your kids to go to college. It is frightening to see how dumb and stupid some people are in this country. I can’t believe this is the same America I knew, which had a big bang singing to the outside world about democracy. Wow.

What do you think most immigrants are discussing at their dinner table today? I am sure they are saying, boy; is this how stupid and dumb some people in this nation are?

You have 30% of people in this nation who are not proud to have an educated president whose election was historical to the entire world. President Obama is an icon to the young generation. He is a motivation to many young generation . Our children are more inspired  to work hard in school. To me, that is refreshing, to some of you it is like smelling a skunk in your back yard.

One day your own  kids will rebell against your craziness.

Let me give you a nice song. Reminder. Majority Americans spoke loud and clear. Get over it.

I support President Obama. I do not care what anyone says. He is the president of the United States and he deserves some respect, he was elected by the people.

The more you attack your own president the more, you let the world doubt what you stand for as a nation, you are puting the character of this nation in jeopady.

Your rants just shows how hypocritical you are, and that is how the entire world is going to view this nation unfortunately.
I really cannot reconcile the two. You want to help other countries to be civil and introduce democracy in their countries, when you can’t show a bit of some civility to your own president. I urge Republicans to be civil, because you are making a fool out of yourselves.

By the way, because of the craziness I have seen with the Republican party, you are pushing me to stop doing business in any of your businesses.

I stopped shopping at Walmart, I do not get gas at any Exxon Mobil gas station,  If you are my doctor, and I find out that you are one of these crazies, you are tossed. I am not coming to your practice.  I will shop around until I find genuine physicians, who are not drunk with the Fox news, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Mitchell Bauchman, Joe “you Lie” Wilson.

I am sure there are reasonable physicians in this country who are there to help and care for humans.

The right wing has driven this country into political insanity.  It is hard to believe what I am seeing this craziness. This is getting out of hand, and what is this telling about this great nation?

Look folks, some of you, who are rapped up into racial remarks, check out who supported and worked their butts off to have your current president elected. The socialists, nazi, Hitler and what ever name coming out of your craziness is ridiculous. Check this folks, take a cookie put it in your mouth. You are going to feel so stupid, when you count white folks in this room, who made this election possible.

Here is candidate Obama thanking his staffers. This is the true reflection of how humble president Obama is.

I am left with my mouth open……….Never mind  my rant

Who contributed to the $7 Trillion deficit????

I am not getting the whole thing of this blame game. It seems we are all getting rapped up in this bubble of twisting facts. For the past week I  visited GOP sites  to  have a feel of  other people ‘s views  on issues, especially those who disagrees with me and my opinion.

Unfortunately, the reckless spending, Nazis, Hitler, Socialist, Death Panels, birthers, is all I got.

So I decided to go round and Interview all . My Question was, who  contributed to this deficit that seem to have shifted to animals that never played part in this share? My first stop was with the dogs.

Here are the answers I got. Enjoy.

Dogs ( Non Political affiliates) they can go either way as long as they are treated well. Also If you sell yourself well they will give you a vote. I stopped by Mr What a f…k  just leave me alone. I am so disgusted with politics says the English Bull dog. His name was James.

English-Bulldogpepper_pug2_jpg_w450 Then I met Grand ma Lucy the pug above. She just shook her head. She is just so suprised how Americans forget that fast. She told me she was independent, and very disgusted with politicians.jakecropped

Well  Jake the dog says; ” Do not blame the dogs, We have nothing to do with the deficit. We kept warning these guys with their reckless spending on staged  Iraq war.” But both parties do not listen to independents, they only want our votes, but not our opinion. So screw them.

Ask Bullwinkle the Banks Customers.

Bullwinkle should do some explaining? File:BullwinkleJMoose.jpg

Well I know dogs would pick on me because no one wants to turn them into stew, with the bull…t of selling me credit cards with high rates.

I wish I could rob the bank and then line up for federal funding, like the Bank officials did.

“ask Rodrigo the ground hog: Immigrants

if it is not the dogs or Harriet the bullwinkle, then who created the $7 trillion deficit. Was it Rodrigo the ground hog ( Mexican Illegal Immigrants?

ground hog 035

Ground Hog :- Illegal Immigrants

Well Rodrigo the ground hog says:  “no way,do not blame.  I was hired to work on the farms and construction companies. I worked long hours, and my pay was close to nothing. My wife worked for the big elephant ( Mitt Romney) as  a baby sitter.  She baby sat baby elephants.Baby elephant  My cousin Pedro the hog worked for another elephant.

babyElephant on ball

baby-elephant 2

The only crime I made was to cross illegally. But then i was caught working illegally, and was put in jail.

I dug under the cells to try to escape but was caught and was deported . The proof is right here. The pic of me in prison.

ground hog no 2 caught 006Well, Although I was jailed and deported, I was hired by the same people who are puting blame on me. Mostly I paid my medical bills by cash. I was hired to build their homes and  to dig their garden , and leased me out at a high cost,  I was only paid $3/hour. So do not blame me for the Deficit . Ask the Wall street the bear, I saw most of them hanging out with my boss. The bear will give you answers.

Wall Street the Bear

Fair Warren County 077

Here is what Wall Street the Bear had to say; “Well Do not blame me, I am just the lobbyst, I donate millions to politicians for their campaign, together we know how to swindle the nation. You can not blame us because we are just in business of the greed and rewarding ourselves hefty bonuses. We love it.

Proof is here my friends: http://www.forbes.com/2009/01/28/wall-street-bonuses-business-wall-street_0128_bonuses.html

And here : http://community.nytimes.com/comments/www.nytimes.com/2009/01/29/business/29bonus.html

But wait a minute, we do not do this by ourselves. This helps our dear  Self Righteous Elephant( GOP). Ask him. actually the big elephant did more damage to this country . The elephants were in power the past eight years, and yes we the bears worked with them to swindle this country. Apart from our heft bonuses, how about the war in Iraq? Was’nt  it staged by the elephants?

Check this out: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-925270800873130790

happy-elephant-01

The elephants  made very irresponsible moves, apart from going to bed with the wall street, he took us to war.

Here is what the Elephant  ( Chenney) had to say,  Wait a minute Bear the wall street, YOU HAVE TO DIE WITH A “NO“.

Cheney accuses Justice Dept of bending to politics in investigating terror interrogators

‘Gentle men’, says the elephant above; we know how to play the scare game. Let us blame all this mess on the Donkey. Trust me, he will not fight back. We have to paint him “NAZIS“, we have to call him “Hitler“, we have to paint him as a “SOCIALIST”,we also have to create a fake birth certificate, to prove that he is not a born US citizen. Paint him as a bad guy for this country. Make sure you vote “NO” to any bill he tries to bring forward. Paint him as a big spender. You will be amazed of how people will turn against him. Target the soft donkeys in both congress and senate.

george-bush-eats-a-kitten

That is our game, to shift blame on others. Eventually, the deficit will be blamed on the donkey, and we shall be free, and back in power. Hurray!!!

With all the blame and name calling the donkey is keeping  it cool with a simple smile, taking one step at at time to clean up the mess created by the above culprits!!!!!!!

barack-obama-official-small

Fiscal Conservative” Cut spending. Does this sound familiar?  Current GOP SONG????????????

Socialist, Hitler,Nazi and  many names  targeted at the the president who only took office on January 20 2009.. Shameful ,Shameful.

Below is comment from some one who is paying attention to politics.

George W Bush killed hundreds of thousands of people with his phony war in Iraq, destroyed the economy, ruled with arrogance and catered only to his “base” while lowering taxes for the wealthy. If a condemnation is in order then the “pastor” has much to choose from in the case of Mr. Bush and his record. However, since the pastor and Bush appear to be of the same political and faith based agenda, then the current President will continue to undergo further attacks by fundamentalist wackos”

REMINDER FOLKS:

President Barack Obama was elected by the people. He won by landslide.

and on November 4, he warned us that the challenge is huge. After 7 months in office. we are seeing what President Obama warned about. How can we forget so fast what kept us all night to elect the person we all believed in and get sidetracked by the group of people who lost this election?

Are our memories that bad that we can forget that fast.  It is only 7 months, and if you let the people who destroyed this country for 8 years, make you believe president Obama is not doing a good job and claiming he is not an American. It’s a shame if we are believing the GOP BS.

It is only 7 m0nths President Obama has been in office. Give him chance Gentle men and ladies. He is an American just like yourself. Do not let our outer appearances dictate your brains.

Well this week was so weired.

A lot of hate talk from GOP cronies against President Obama, and any one who supports President Barack Obama’ agenda.

Hate  e-mails fying this week, starting from TV, Radio, and the internet.

1. New Jersey radio talkers are bashing Governor Jon Corzine 24/7, and pimping Republican candidate Chris Christie for governor New Jersey.
The only problem that is a big Oops!!! is Chris Christie is not offering any new ideas, of how he is going to reduce taxes in New Jersey. He copied every Corzine’s idea, and presented it as his. So in shot, I can say Republican candidate is a blank on new ideas. period.
2.The same radio station 101.5, is going on and on bashing President Obama’s health care reform. Even saying on air that they would like to punch Nancy Pelosi on her face.

That is cowardness and a sign of stupidity.
3. Kos also posted some hate e-mails. I encourage you to go read for yourself . Visit DailyKos.

Here are some hatred expressed by the GOP followers to kos:

obamabot

yeah just help keep the truth hiden – fuck you your a piece of shit i hope you choke today while you eating something – your a fucking traiter just like all the other state run media – fuck you you fucking fucktard OBAMA WAS BORN IN kENYA BITCH – HE IS A FRAUD JUST LIKE YOU!”

Your site is garbage, hatred, venomous slime from the rejects in society.
You people think you can personally attack anybody you damn well please and don’t have to answer to it.
You all sit on your liberal asses all day just cutting up PEOPLE while the Republicans cut up POLICY.
Everybody knows the Code Pinkos, the hippie anti war protesters, the harrassment of our Marines. The ugly hateful signs carried by the left with President Bush as Hitler and wearing Nazi garb. And you think we are going to just let that be forgotten? Forget it.
And the Sarah Palin hanging last Halloween. Hmm, liberals thought that was funny.

LIBERALS/DEMOCRATS are going to lose SO BIG in 2010 . NJ becomes red when CORZINE moves out.
Virginia goes RED .Other races are looking very promising too so convince each other just ‘HOW BAD’ the GOP is when it is quite the opposite.
Everytime Obama opens his mouth, more bullshit runs out. The American people ALREADY GOT HIS LYING MESSAGE and are NOT INTERESTED in hearing anything about the NAZI HEALTH CARE bill.

By the time we are thru with Obama and his health care bullshit, his numbers are going be the 40’s and the worse he looks, the better Bush looks.

You people are the most hateful scumbags I have ever encountered online. GARBAGE with a MAGGOT infestation.

Obama sent his thugs. Now he set the stage for war. It takes 2 to fight a battle but one must fall. Let’s all sit back and watch the show. I do love WAR MOVIES. “

———————————————————————————————————————-

May I just once more remind the American people including all republicans who are so hateful, resentiful for accepting that Barack Obama become the president of the united state by a ballot. He did not put himself in the white house. American people from all back ground, white, black, pink ,yellow, orange, purple, green, elected him through a ballot. VOTE.

Here is the reminder: He won with a landslide.

And he spoke to the hearts of every Americans, the young and the old, white and blacks, All people of this nation.

Where were the birthers, where were CNN critics, and were were the 101.5 radio talkers?

He won by a land slide. Yes people elected Barack H Obama. Time to move on and help move the country forward. We owe it to ourselves to move this country forward. Negativity will not help, wether you are a republican, Democrat or Independent, we have the  duty to improve the well being of  this  country that we all claim to love so much. Each one of us walking on the American soil must take responsibility.

This is the America people wished for, not the 1600  years ago America.

Sarah Palin’s rambling speech left my mouth wide open. What was Sarah rambling about?

Her speech made me dizzy, as I was trying to get sense of her reasoning . It gets round and round, keep circling in this wall with no outlet. That is how her speech sounded.

Do not get me wrong, I do not hate Sarah Palin, I just do not like her reasoning, and the way she reacts to things.

The problem is not Sarah Palin, but the followers that can not Grasp that Sarah need more education before she runs for president. She is not well balanced,  and can not take the heat. She appears to be too childish. A thought of pimping her to run for President  is crazy.

I blame people who keep planting the thoughts in her head that she is ready and keep pushing her to run. The fact is this woman is not ready for any office.

Sarah Palin needs to tone it down or slow down a little bit.

She should sit back and keep her acts together, before she puts her face in politics again.

Attacking Media and her critics will not help her. She needs to work on her weaknesses before she puts herself on a political stage again.  That is my friendly advise I can give to my dear Sarah.

The truth is, her last speech as governor sounded nothing like a petty angry little woman , giving one boring speech . Sarah talks about nothing. It is like going through the round abouts and not reaching the destiny.

Here is Sarah Palin Fairwell Speech:

“What an absolutely beautiful day it is, and it is my honor to speak to all Alaskans, to our Alaskan family this last time as your governor.  And it is always great to be in Fairbanks.  The rugged rugged hardy people that live up here and some of the most patriotic people whom you will ever know live here, and one thing that you are known for is your steadfast support of our military community up here and I thank you for that and thank you United States military for protecting the greatest nation on Earth.  Together we stand.

And getting up here I say it is the best road trip in America soaring through nature’s finest show.  Denali, the great one, soaring under the midnight sun.  And then the extremes.  In the winter time it’s the frozen road that is competing with the view of ice fogged frigid beauty, the cold though, doesn’t it split the Cheechakos from the Sourdoughs?  And then in the summertime such extreme summertime about a hundred and fifty degrees hotter than just some months ago, than just some months from now, with fireweed blooming along the frost heaves and merciless rivers that are rushing and carving  and reminding us that here, Mother Nature wins.  It is as throughout all Alaska that big wild good life teeming along the road that is north to the future.  That is what we get to see every day.  Now what the rest of America gets to see along with us is in this last frontier there is hope and opportunity and there is country pride.

And it is our men and women in uniform securing it, and we are facing tough challenges in America with some seeming to just be Hell bent maybe on tearing down our nation, perpetuating some pessimism,  and suggesting American apologetics, suggesting perhaps that our best days were yesterdays.  But as other people have asked, “How can that pessimism be, when proof of our greatness, our pride today  is that we produce the great proud volunteers who sacrifice everything for country?”   Now this week alone, Sean Parnell and I we’re on the, um, on Ft. Rich the base  there, the army chapel, and we heard the last roll call, and the sounding of Taps for three very brave, very young Alaskan soldiers who just gave their all for all of us.  Together we do stand with gratitude for our troops who protect all of our cherished freedoms, including our freedom of speech which, par for the course, I’m going to exercise.

And first, some straight talk for some, just some in the media because another right protected for all of us is freedom of the press, and you all have such important jobs reporting facts and informing the electorate, and exerting power to influence.  You represent what could and should be a respected honest profession that could and should be the cornerstone of our democracy.  Democracy depends on you, and that is why, that’s why our troops are willing to die for you.  So, how ’bout in honor of the American soldier, ya quite makin’ things up.  And don’t underestimate the wisdom of the people, and one other thing for the media, our new governor has a very nice family too, so leave his kids alone.

OK, today is a beautiful day and today as we swear in Sean Parnell, no one will be happier than I to witness by God’s grace Alaskans with strength of character advancing our beloved state.  Sean has that.  Craig Campbell has that.  I remember on that December day, we took the  oath to uphold our state constitution, and it was written right here in Fairbanks by very wise pioneers.  We shared the vision for government that they ground in that document.  Our founders wrote “all political power is inherent in the people.  All government originates with the people.  It’s founded upon their will only and it’s instituted for the good of the people as a whole.”  Their remarkably succinct words guided us in all of our efforts in serving you and putting you first, and we have done our best to fulfill promises that I made on Alaska Day, 2005, when I first asked for the honor of serving you.

Remember then, our state so desired and so deserved ethics reform.  We promised it, and now it is the law.  Ironically, it needs additional reform to stop blatant abuse from partisan operatives, and I hope the lawmakers will continue that reform.  We promised that you would finally see a fair return on your Alaskan owned natural resources so we build a new oil and gas appraisal system, an  is an equitable formula to usher in a new era of competition and transparency and protection for Alaskans and the producers.  ACES incentivizes new exploration and it’s the exploration that is our future.  It opens up oil basins and it ensures that the people will never be taken advantage of again.  Don’t forget Alaskans you are the resource owners per our constitution and that’s why for instance last year when oil prices soared and state coffers swelled, but you were smacked with high energy prices, we sent you the energy rebate.  See, it’s your money and I’ve always believed that you know how to better spend it than government can spend it.

I promised that we would protect this beautiful environment while safely and ethically developing resources, and we did.  We built the Petroleum Oversight Office and a sub-cabinet to study climate conditions.  And I promised I’d govern with fiscal restraint, so to not immorally burden futre generations.  And we did…we slowed the rate of government growth and I vetoed hundreds of millions of dollars of  excess and wtih lawmakers we saved billions for the future.

I promsed that we’d lead the charge to forward funding education, and hold schools accountable, and improve opportunities for special needs students and elevate vo-tech training and we paid down pension debt.

I promised that we would manage our fish and wildlife for abundance, and that we would defend the constitution, and we have, though outside special interest groups they still just don’t get it on this one.  Let me tell you, Alaskans really need to stick together on this with new leadership in this area especially, encouraging new leadership… got to stiffen your spine to do what’s right for Alaska when the pressure mounts, because you’re going to see anti-hunting, anti-second amendment circuses from Hollywood and here’s how they do it.  They use these delicate, tiny, very talented celebrity starlets, they use Alaska as a fundraising tool for their anti-second amendment causes.  Stand strong, and remind them patriots will protect our guaranteed, individual right to bear arms, and by the way, Hollywood needs to know, we eat, therefore we hunt.

I promised energy solutions and we have, we have a plan calling for 50% of our electricity generated by renewable resources and we can now insist that those who hold the leases to develop our resources that they do so now on Alaska’s terms.  So now finally after decades of just talk, finally we’re seeing oil and gas drilling up there at Point Thompson.  And I promised that we would get a natural gas pipeline underway and we did.  Since I was a little kid growing up here, I remember the discussions, especially the political discussions  just talking about and hoping for and dreaming of commercializing our clean, abundant, needed natural gas.

Our gas line inducement act, AGIA, that was the game-changer and this is thanks to our outstanding gas line team, and the legislature adopting this law, 58-1.  They knew, they know AGIA is the vehicle to drive this monumental energy project and bring everyone to the table, this bipartisan victory, it came from Alaskans working together with free market private sector principles, and now we are on the road to the largest private-sector energy project in the history of America.  It is for Alaska’s future, it is for America’s energy independence and it will make us a more peaceful, prosperous and secure nation.

What I promised, we accomplished. “We” meaning state staff, amazing commissioners, great staff assisting them, and conscientious Alaskans outside the bureaucracy – Tom Van Flein, and Meg Stapleton and Kristan Cole, so many others, many volunteers who just stepped up to the challenge as good Alaskans, but nothing, nothing could have succeeded without my right-hand man Kris Perry.  She is the sharpest, boldest, hardest-working partner. Kris is my right-hand man and much success is due to Kris.

So much success, and Alaska there is much good in store further down the road, but to reach it we must value and live the optimistic pioneering spirit that made this state proud and free, and we can resist enslavement to big central government that crushes hope and opportunity.  Be wary of accepting government largess.  It doesn’t come free and often, accepting it takes away everything that is free, melting into Washington’s powerful “care-taking” arms will just suck incentive to work hard and chart our own course right out of us, and that not only contributes to an unstable economy and dizzying national debt, but it does make us less free.

I resisted the stimulus package.  I resisted the stimulus package and we have championed earmark reform, slashing earmark requests by 85% to break the cycle of dependency on a stifling, unsustainable federal agenda, and other states should follow this for their and for America’s stability.  We don’t have to feel that we must beg an allowance from Washington, except to beg the allowance to be self-determined.  See, to be self-sufficient, Alaska must be allowed to develop – to drill and build and climb, to fulfill statehood’s promise.  At statehood we knew this.  At statehood we knew this, that we are responsible for ourselves and our families and our future, and fifty years later, please let’s not start believing that government is the answer.  It can’t make you happy or healthy or wealthy or wise.  What can?  It is the wisdom of the people and our families and our small businesses, and industrious individuals, and it is God’s grace, helping those who help themselves, and then this  allows that very generous voluntary hand up that we’re known for, enthusiastically providing those who need it.

Alaskans will remember that years ago, remember we sported the old bumper sticker that said, “Alaska.  We Don’t Give a Darn How They Do It Outside?”  Do you remember that?  I remember that, and remember it was because we would be different.  We’d roll up our sleeves, and we would diligently sow and reap, and we can still do this to carve wealth out of the wilderness and make our living on the water, with strong hands and innovative minds, now with smarter technology.  It is what our first people and our parents did.  It worked, because they worked.  We must be prudent and persistent and press for the people’s right to responsibly develop God-given resources for the maximum benefit of the people.

And we have come so far in just 50 years.  We’re no longer a frontier outpost on the periphery of the world’s greatest nation.  Now, as a contributor and a securer of America, we can attain our destiny in the promise of our motto “North to the Future.”  See, the pressing issue of our time, it’s energy independence, because there is an inherent link between energy and security, and energy and prosperity.  Alaska will lead with energy, we will prove you can be both pro-development and pro-environment, because no one loves their clean air and their land and their wildlife and their water more than an Alaskan.  We will protect it.

Yes, America must look north to the future for security, for energy independence, for our strategic location on the globe.  Alaska is the gate-keeper of the continent.

So, we are here today at a changing of the guard.  Now, people who know me, and they know how much I love this state, some still are choosing not to hear why I made the decision to chart a new course to advance the state.  And it should be so obvious to you.  (indicating heckler) It is because I love Alaska this much, sir (at heckler) that I feel it is my duty to avoid the unproductive, typical, politics as usual, lame duck session in one’s last year in office.  How does that benefit you?  No, with this decision now, I will be able to fight even harder for you, for what is right, for truth.  And I have never felt like you need a title to do that.

So, as we all move forward together, let’s vow to keep championing Alaska, to advocate responsible development, and smaller government, and freedom, and when I took the oath to serve you, I promised…remember I promised to steadfastly and doggedly guard the interests of this great state like that grizzly guards her cubs, as a mother naturally guards her own.  And I will keep that vow wherever the road may lead.  Todd and I, and Track, Bristol, Tripp, Willow, Piper, Trig…I think I got ‘em all.  We will forever be so grateful for the honor of our lifetime to have served you.  Our whole big  diverse full and fun family, we all thank you and  I am very very blessed to have had their support all along, for Todd’s support.  I am thankful too.  I have been blessed to have been raised in this last frontier.  Thank you for our home, Mom and Dad, because in Alaska it is not an easy living, but it is a good living, and here it is impossible to lose your way.  Wherever the road may lead you, we have that steadying great north star to guide us home.

So let’s all enjoy the ride, and I thank you Alaska, and God bless Alaska and God bless America.”
